I think it's time again to post something positive here. I think it doesn't happen often enough for all the good things that are done around the islands.
I think Rubicon has been doing an excellent job maintaining the landscaping. I like their experiments with what appear to be native plants near the front gate. California has some really nice looking natural flora which doesn't need the heavy-handed watering that non-native species require. This is a good step both toward water conservation and making things more picturesque. I hope they spread these experiments elsewhere on the islands.
The yellowing of the lawns I reported here earlier this years has abated, probably due to application of fertilizer. (When I had talked to one of the gardeners earlier in the year he told me they hadn't fertilized in a yaer.) The lawns are lush and green again.
I also notice the particular care they take toward edging the cement next to the lawns, clean-up of plant debris, etc.
